The wounded hours

Performative actions against femicide in Peru
Exhibition by Susana Vásquez Torres

The Wounded Hours is a performance project that took place in Peru between 2016 and 2018. The aim of the project was to make visible the deaths of women that keep happening in a brutal way in Peru. With individual and group actions on the streets of Lima, Cusco and Ayacucho (Peruvian cities), these deaths were symbolically represented and the private was made public. The daily, quiet movement of passersby was interrupted to confront them with our dead women. This exhibition shows the records of the different actions that were part of the project The Wounded Hours.

The exhibition is on display in the upstairs hallways of STRAZE. Mondays through Fridays 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Saturdays from 7 p.m. - 2 p.m. and Sundays from 2 p.m. - 6 p.m., as well as during the opening hours of the café.

The event is made possible by NEUSTART KULTUR "Program 2" of the Federal Commissioner for Culture and Media and the Bundesverband Soziokultur.
